Welcome to the new web site of the Gloucestershire Hockey Association (GHA). Initially this site is little more than a framework but we will populate the content as quickly as we can. Our priority is the calendar and also letting you know if events are threatened by the weather (via the calendar and also news items on the home page).
Dean Close School were the runners up in the National Schools Under 12 finals whilst Lansdown Hockey Club came fourth in the club competition for Under 12 Girls. Congratulations to both!
Our summer Development Centres for Under 13 and Under 14 boys and girls start tonight and run through to 25th June 2019 in some venues. We are running four centres as so may of you have signed up. Gloucestershire Hockey Association is holding its AGM on 29th May 2019 at the Civil Service Club on Tewkesbury Road in Cheltenham starting at 7:30pm. Please let's make sure all clubs are represented. The documents for the meeting can be accessed by clicking "Read more" below.
Gloucestershire Hockey Association will again be running the Women’s Clubs Tournament on Sunday 8th September 2019. We have the use of both pitches at Dean Close School, Cheltenham for the day. We are inviting entries from all clubs affiliated to Gloucestershire HA. Our aim is to provide lots of friendly but competitive hockey of an appropriate standard for all participants. We envisage that the morning section will start at 10am going through till 12:30pm/1:00pm with the afternoon section starting at 2:00pm going through till 4.30pm/5:00pm.
GHA is currently asking our clubs and schools to nominate junior players (boys and girls) for the GHA Under 13 Development Centres. The Development Centres are the first tier of the England Hockey Player Pathway. There is a link to more information on our "Juniors" page.
Congratulations to Katharine Lady Berkley School, winners of the above competition, and to The King's School, runners up. Both schools progress to the regional competition run by the West Hockey Association. Full details of the event can be viewed here.
