Information about the bursary

There is an award scheme for young people from the Gloucestershire and South Gloucestershire area who excel in their chosen sport/parasport.

The GPFA Honourable Company of Gloucestershire Award 2023 is a small bursary award administered by the Gloucestershire Playing Fields Association (GPFA) on behalf of the Honourable Company of Gloucestershire. Successful applicants will receive a grant of £250 from the scheme to help meet their training and equipment costs. The qualifying criteria for the award are:

  • Nominee to be aged 15-19 years on 1st September 2023
  • Have outstanding achievement in their sport/parasport, with the potential to attain national and/or international standard
  • The nominee’s coach, instructor or relevant sports governing body must provide a letter of support
  • To be resident in the administrative boundaries of Gloucestershire or South Gloucestershire
