Welcome to the new web site of the Gloucestershire Hockey Association (GHA). Initially this site is little more than a framework but we will populate the content as quickly as we can. Our priority is the calendar and also letting you know if events are threatened by the weather (via the calendar and also news items on the home page).
Gloucestershire Hockey Association will again be running the Women’s Clubs Tournament on Sunday 8th September 2019. We have the use of both pitches at Dean Close School, Cheltenham for the day. We are inviting entries from all clubs affiliated to Gloucestershire HA. Our aim is to provide lots of friendly but competitive hockey of an appropriate standard for all participants. We envisage that the morning section will start at 10am going through till 12:30pm/1:00pm with the afternoon section starting at 2:00pm going through till 4.30pm/5:00pm.
GHA is currently asking our clubs and schools to nominate junior players (boys and girls) for the GHA Under 13 Development Centres. The Development Centres are the first tier of the England Hockey Player Pathway. There is a link to more information on our "Juniors" page.
Congratulations to Katharine Lady Berkley School, winners of the above competition, and to The King's School, runners up. Both schools progress to the regional competition run by the West Hockey Association. Full details of the event can be viewed here.
The above competition (postponed from 28th January due to frozen pitches) has been rescheduled for 4th February. The weather may continue to be a problem. We aim to publish information here on the morning of the tournament to let people know whether the games can go ahead.
Today's festivals ARE ON. It is chilly so wrap up warm but the pitches are fine. Enjoy the day.
